Black Obsidian
This is an unbelievable work of art. This necklace is comprised of US made 24 gauge sterling silver wire, it is then hand wrapped around each bead. Snowflake obsidian is a beautiful gemstone, like flakes of snow floating against a deep black sky. The snowflake appearance in this volcanic glass is produced by internal crystallites formed as lava quickly cooled. The obsidian is mined in the US and the necklace is then made by in artist in Bozeman, MT. This is another wonderful example of sustainability. A great function for nursing, yet such a beautiful work of art, it can be worn for years after nursing. The short necklace is 17.25 inches and the long necklace is 22.25 inches, please allow for a half an inch of variability due to it being hand made. The length is measured from the clasp to the bottom of the drop. The majority of the necklace is made up of 4mm beads and then the drop contains a cascade of 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and then finishing with a 10mm bead, perfect for a baby's grasp.
